18 May 2009 Focus @ 69 Smith Street Gallery 69 Smith Street Gallery is starting a member's group for those with an interest in photography - in all its forms: FIlm, Digital, B&W, Colour, Pinhole... - Meet every 2-3 months with a speaker followed by a group discussion. - share tips and experiences. - hold one annual exhibition at the gallery. Participation in the photography group is free for all gallery members. Annual group exhibition will attract an additional fee. Non-members are welcome to attend first meeting at no cost. Join the WORKSHOP on Pin Hole Photography with expert David Tatnall David will show you how to make your own camera, materials supplied, talk about exposures, Paper negatives will be processed on site so you can see your results. Then turn your camera into an Art Work.

7 March 2008 Call for Artists!!!!! Deadline 14 April. GROUP SCULPTURE EXHIBITION The first group sculpture show for 2008 will be held from 16 April – 6 July. The emphasis will be on any aspects of the material ‘Aluminum’ but other material maybe included as well. Materials such as sheet Al, foils, Al cans, old Al etching plates or any found Al objects are suitable for your artistic creation. 2D and 3D work welcome. Works must be suitable for outdoors and suitable for weathering. Deliver work to Gallery on Monday 14 April, cost per participant is $30. 5 March 2008 Fresh from her 11-month art residency in Malaysia, 69 Smith Street committee member Gabrielle Bates will launch her new series of experimental works 'Mouth of Flowers' at Trocadero Art Space from March 26 to April 14. The exhibition includes artworks she created at Rimbun Dahan, the highly sought-after residency program she has just completed in Kuala Lumpur. In July, Bates will return to Malaysia to undertake another residency fellowship at Malihom in Penang. All are welcome to attend the opening on Saturday, 29th May, 4 - 6pm. 2 March 2008 This was an exciting day made really interesting by the expertise of David Tatnall.
All the artists are unaware of their final results. This is a refreshing and somewhat different approach to exhibiting.
The photos will be on display from 26th March - 13th April.

1 March 2008 Over the last couple of years, the Sculpture Garden at the Gallery has been upgraded and rejuvenated. We have set up a list of exhibition dates to coincide with the Gallery dates, but of a longer duration of 12 weeks. We aim to have a full program of sculpture exhibitions throughout the year. DATES 2008 23 January – 13 April (1) 16 April – 6 July (2) 30 July – 28 September (3) 1 October – 21 December (4) The cost is $240 per spot. Any type of work, 2D or 3D, suitable for an outdoor space is acceptable. If required, participants will have to provide their own display stands.
